Our Mission
We’re Pro-Choice
Arclett is a specialist alcohol prevention platform focused on early behaviour change ~ driven by evidence, and lived experience. While treatment services reach the 6% of people who are dependent, we exist for the 94% who may not see themselves as having an issue, but are quietly questioning their relationship with alcohol.

We make the alcohol-free lifestyle visible, attractive, and accessible by inspiring curiosity, not shame. Through community, culture-shifting content, and nature-based alternatives, we help people reflect and explore life beyond alcohol ~ without labels, pressure, or judgement. We're not here to tell people what to do. We're here to show what’s possible.
The Problem
Alcohol harm in the UK is at its highest level in recorded history. In 2023, there were over 10,473 alcohol-specific deaths. Alcohol misuse costs the UK economy around £28 billion each year. These numbers reflect a crisis ~ one that touches health, families, communities, and productivity. Yet, despite these clear harms, the cultural narrative around alcohol remains largely unchanged. We still default to drinking in social settings, and many harmful drinking patterns go unnoticed because they don’t look like addiction. The current UK guideline of 14 units per week, now over ten years old, offers a blanket limit that doesn’t reflect how differently alcohol affects individuals physically, mentally, and emotionally ~ leaving many without meaningful guidance.
The Barrier ~ Stigma
One of the biggest obstacles to change is stigma. When we asked our community what held them back from improving their relationship with alcohol, 29% said stigma was the number one issue. The fear of being judged, labelled, or seen as “having an issue” stops many people from speaking openly or making changes. In a culture where drinking is normalised, choosing to cut back ~ or stop altogether ~ can feel socially isolating. Sobriety is still invisible in many spaces, and without visible, positive role models, it’s hard for people to see what’s possible.
The Gap
Support services understandably focus on the 6% of people who are dependent on alcohol. But this leaves out the remaining 94% ~ millions of people. These are individuals whose alcohol use may not look problematic from the outside but still affects their mental health, motivation, and relationships. Many don’t feel represented by mainstream services, yet they’re quietly questioning their relationship with alcohol and looking for support, inspiration, or just a sense that they’re not alone. Right now, most of them go unheard.
Why Arclett Exists
Arclett was created to meet this unmet need ~ to fill the space between drinking as a cultural default and treatment as a last resort. We recognise that everyone’s relationship with alcohol is personal, and curiosity can be a powerful first step. Whether someone is cutting back, taking a break, or abstaining, they deserve support that’s non-judgemental, stigma-free, and culturally relevant.
We believe that prevention matters ~ and that in 2025, prevention needs to happen online, through storytelling that actually resonates. Our goal is to spark reflection long before drinking becomes a crisis. We do this through positive, human-led content that encourages people to think differently without feeling pressured or shamed.
Our Solution
Arclett is a modern take on alcohol prevention ~ grounded in community, lived experience, and the outdoors. We provide a safe, welcoming space where over 10,000 people reflect, connect, and explore sober curiosity on their own terms. We don’t promote abstinence as the only way ~ we celebrate choice.
Through storytelling, culture-shifting content, and alternatives to drinking ~ we show that alcohol-free living can be joyful, empowering, and relevant. And it’s working.
