“I started drinking as a teenager, not because I loved it, but because I thought I should. It was like forcing myself to enjoy something just to fit in. But over time, that mindset shifted. I realised I wanted more out of life ~ more energy, more clarity, more time. So, I decided to stop drinking and see what would happen. And what happened was pretty incredible.

In the past year, I've lost weight, gained focus, and found a whole new level of dedication to my craft. I’ve had more time and money for travel and for investing in my photography. I’ve explored more of Scotland, crossed off bucket-list shots, and attended events that have connected me with incredible, talented people. I even got to bond with Ewan McGregor over not drinking, which was definitely a highlight!

My wildlife photography has improved, and I’ve started working on more impactful projects. But most importantly, my health and well-being have taken centre stage. I feel better than ever, and I have no desire to go back.

So here’s to one year sober and to all the adventures still to come!”
