“In August 2024, I felt ready for a positive change. I wanted to feel clearer-minded, fitter and healthier, so I decided to take a break from alcohol — and it’s turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself.

What I’ve discovered is that socialising, relaxing, celebrating and even getting through tough moments can feel even more genuine and enjoyable without a drink. I’m more connected, more grounded and far more “in the moment” than I ever expected.

The benefits have stacked up quickly ~ I feel more confident, happier, physically fitter, and my weekends start bright and energised. I’ve also realised how much more I enjoy spending my money on the things that truly add value to my life. 

When I tell people I’m not drinking, I always hope it’s clear that I’m not judging anyone else’s choices ~ I’m simply choosing what feels right for me. I’m incredibly grateful for the understanding and kindness from friends and colleagues over the last 15 months. Their support has made this journey feel natural and pressure-free.

I originally committed to a year, but now, 15 months later and experiencing how good this feels, I’m in no rush to go back. I feel amazing!”
